African American History in Verse: Author Talk with Marilyn Nelson

Join us for an evening of poetry and conversation about African American history and culture with award-winning poet and author, Marilyn Nelson.

Marilyn Nelson is a three-time finalist for the National Book Award and she's one of America's most celebrated contemporary poets. She is the author or translator of eighteen poetry books for adults and children, five chapter books and she published a memoir entitled How I Discovered Poetry, which was named one of NPR’s Best Books of 2014.
