India is an ocean of stories, and Indian civilization is a vast and exciting topic. This lecture will take the audience on a journey through 5,000 years of India’s past by introducing six major sites of Indian history. It will present interesting facts, stories, visuals and perspectives about them—as well as the impression of foreign travelers over the millennia. Proceeding in chronological order, it will also reveal the larger arc—including major trends, transformations and fault lines—of Indian civilization. The lecture is based on Namit Arora’s best-selling new book, Indians: A Brief History of a Civilization.
